  • Announced our full season, including the world premiere of benevolent, a new play by Sophie McIntosh, directed by Nina Goodheart.

  • Held our Artist Coworking Day event at the Tank’s Studio space for the first time.

  • Longtime Good Apples Collective collaborator Max Van joined the Apple Corps.

  • Produced a private industry reading of Eleven Weeks of Nuclear Summer by Sophie McIntosh, with support from Spark Productions.

  • Sophie was featured discussing Good Apples Collective in American Theatre magazine’s Subtext podcast.

  • Celebrated Good Apples Collective’s three year anniversary.

2025

  • Produced our second annual Rootstock Reading Series, with presentations November 16, 2025, featuring THAT TIME TERRI AND LILY TOOK A ROAD TRIP TO SEE THE LAURA INGALLS WILDER HOUSE, written by Gina Femia and directed by Ash(er) Lloyd Ehrenberg; THE LABYRINTH, written by Mo Holmes and directed by Kanika Vaish; and TOP, written by A.A. Brenner and directed by Mary Cynthia McGowan.

  • cityscrape — our very first play as a company — was published by Theatrical Rights Worldwide.

  • Had Road Kills featured through a central display (and custom drink!) at the Drama Book Shop.

  • Produced the sold-out, critically acclaimed world premiere production ofRoad Kills by Sophie McIntosh, running August 15-September 6 at Paradise Factory on the Lower East Side.

  • Sophie and Nina were invited to appear on a panel entitled “Producing Through Values” for Boston-based theater organization Company One, exploring the question, “How do we center values and community in our self-producing?”

  • Hailed as part of “the next great leap in theatre” in a HowlRound article entitled Where is US Theatre Thriving? Small, Grassroots Organizations by Roman Sanchez.

  • Held our second annual free Director-Playwright Speed Dating event, this time in Tompkins Square Park. Over 100 emerging artists attended.

  • Honored as grant recipients of the Alexia Vernon Legacy Fund for Purpose-Driven Founders.

  • Held our third Artist Coworking Day.

  • Produced an internal reading of cityscrape by Sophie McIntosh to prepare the script for licensing and publication with Theatrical Rights Worldwide.

2024

  • Announced the Apple Corps, an advisory committee of theater artists who have worked extensively with GAC in the past, aimed at helping us shape our future. We welcomed inaugural Corps members Paige Seber, Mia Fowler, Saawan Tiwari, and Willow Funkhouser.

  • Produced the first Rootstock Reading Series, feturing Among the Coatsby Noma Mirny, directed by Kenny Castro; I AM MALALA BOOKCLUB MEETING ON SUNDAY NOVEMBER 12, 2023 by Mehrnaz Tiv, directed by Sabina Sethi Unni; and The Morbs by Jen Diamond, directed by Britt Berke. 

  • Produced the sold-out world premiere of cunnicularii by Sophie McIntosh at Alchemical Studios from June 28 to July 13. Received positive press from Sara Holdren in New York Magazine and The New Yorker’s Helen Shaw, among others. Added a performance due to popular demand.

  • Held our first free Director-Playwright Speed Dating event in Central Park. More than 60 emerging artists attended.

  • Added a performance space database to our series of free resources.

  • Held a second Artist Coworking Day due to popular demand.

  • Added a playwright contract explainer to our series of free resources.

  • Held our first free Artist Coworking Day in the Signature Theater lobby.

2023

  • Produced an internal reading of cunnicularii by Sophie McIntosh at the Dramatists Guild, featuring Marianna Gailus, Juan Arturo, Maria-Christina Oliveras, and J. Anthony Crane.

  • Launched our first series of free resources for self-producing artists, including a rehearsal space database and two sample budgets.

  • Produced an exploratory movement workshop for cunnicularii by Sophie McIntosh in collaboration with Willow Funkhouser.

  • Nina and Sophie were selected for a residency at Art Farm in Marquette, Nebraska, where they co-wrote a new play entitled The Settled.

  • Produced the world premiere of cityscrape by Sophie McIntosh at Arts on Site. PerThe Theatre Times, “McIntosh and Goodheart’s inaugural piece is a heart-clenching joy.”

  • Officially launched Good Apples Collective. Received our first media coverage in Playbill.
